Storyteller Workbench
Connect Five Rooms to Storyteller Workbench to check a compile against a market's guidelines and to log every compile against your manuscript.
Connect
- Open Settings > Workbench and turn on Connect to Storyteller Workbench.
- Enter your Workbench username, usually your email address.
- Choose Copy Public Key. In Workbench, go to Settings > Agent Signing Keys, add the key, and give it read access to manuscripts and markets and write access to compile events.
- Choose Check Connection.
Each device has its own key, kept in the Secure Enclave where the device has one. Repeat these steps on each device. New Key… replaces this device's key; add the new one in Workbench.
Link a project
Under Linked manuscript, search for the manuscript in Workbench that matches this project and choose it. The link syncs to your other devices. Unlink removes it.
Check against a market
In the Publish room, choose Manuscript, then Check against a market…, and search for a market by name. Choose it to see its length limits, file types, blind reading, simultaneous submissions and AI policy. Preflight then checks your compile against them. A rule Workbench hasn't recorded is reported as unchecked, never as passed.
What's sent
After each compile, Workbench receives the preset, the checkpoint, the word count and a fingerprint of the file (its SHA-256). Your text never leaves your device. If you're offline, reports wait under Compile reports and are sent later; choose Send Now to send them at once. Reports Workbench refuses, or that can't be sent after many tries, are listed under Not reported.
Each compile in Workbench links back to its checkpoint in Five Rooms (see Checkpoints and History).
