iCloud Sync
Sync keeps your projects up to date on your Mac, iPad and iPhone through your private iCloud account.
Turn on Sync with iCloud in Settings > iCloud (on iPad and iPhone, Settings > iCloud Sync).
- End-to-end encrypted. Each project has its own key. Your writing is encrypted on your device before it's uploaded, so neither Apple nor anyone else can read it.
- Nothing is overwritten. Edit the same scene on two devices before they sync and both sets of edits are kept and combined.
- Edits arrive as you work. A scene open on your Mac updates while you write on your iPad.
The Settings pane shows the status, when you last synced and what's Waiting to upload. Sync Now doesn't wait for the next pass. If sync pauses, for example because you've signed out of iCloud, the status says why; changes you make meanwhile are kept and upload when you choose Resume. If a different iCloud account is signed in, choose Use This iCloud Account… to sync the library to it.
A project shared with you by another writer syncs through Five Rooms on the web instead, never through your iCloud (see Write with Others).
Continue on another device
With Handoff, start writing on one device and continue on another. The scene opens at the same place.
