The Sample Project

Five Rooms comes with a sample: Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886), set up the way you might set up a book of your own. Its scenes have synopses, story times, points of view and settings. It has characters and places, study pages, a beat sheet, tags, collections to filter by, comment categories, a glossary, notes in the margin, front and back matter, submission documents and two checkpoints. Its Start Here note has steps for filtering the contents.

The sample is added the first time Five Rooms opens with an empty library. To open it later, choose Help > Open Sample Project. On iPad and iPhone, choose Open Sample Project in Settings. If you've deleted it, this brings back a fresh copy.

Start with the Start Here note at the top of Research & Notes. It says what's filled in, and where to find it.

The sample is an ordinary project: change anything, compile it, or delete it when you're done (File > Delete Project… on a Mac). Its story times are clock times in London; when it's added, they're read on your device's clock.
